Under The Bus

 Homeric Hero

Governor Mitt Romney had a very interesting appearance with Jon Keller on Keller At Large. Of particular note was the way Keller pressed Romney on his relegation of Kerry Healey to “handbag status”.  Romney’s reaction feigning that he didn’t understand what Keller was asking him about was as close as the uber-cool gov ever gets to flustered. Romney recovered and declared that Healey’s race was among the most important to him in his role as head of the Republican Governors Association.

Romney also articulated the GOP talking points on Healey’s behalf:

“I think she’s going to pull it off. She was 39 points behind only a few weeks ago, and now I think it’s in single digits. And who knows? When people get in the voting booth, I think they’re going to say ‘You know what? I want a governor who will protect my personal security.”

Who can believe anything Romney says – afterall, he was the one when elected who claimed he would not be going anywhere. Has he been around at all?
