Who Will Win 2008’s Communication Battle?

Frank Luntz, a Republican pollster who had helped craft the Contract with America, became a familiar face on MSNBC. Central to Luntz’s work are focus groups, in which he asks potential voters to measure what they think of a candidate with a dial device. Now Luntz is out with a new book, Words That Work, It’s Not What You Say It’s What People Hear. The book is in the tradition of Roger Ailes’ communication classic, You Are the Message.

Luntz has some very interesting things to tell me about the current crop of Republicans and Democrats in my New York Sun column. Here’s a preview: both Hillary Clinton and the Republicans may be in trouble while Barack Obama is on the rise.
