Hillary’s Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Bad DayGive the Republican National Committee style points for its subject heading on an e-mail including links of stories about the troubles Hillary Clinton is having, “Hillary’s Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.” The staff is referencing a classic children’s book by Judith Viorst, “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.” No word on what Viorst, who along with her husband Milton, is a traditional Washington liberal, thinks about this.

This was a favorite of my family. When we had a day when my sister and I were running late and my five-year-old sister would snake her way through a construction site and my mother needed to get to work early, my mother would dub it a “terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.”

Most normal people are discouraged by bad days. But, you know what, I don’t think Hillary Clinton is one of them. She’s had a lot of bad days. Think back to 1998, when the news broke of her husband’s dalliance with Monica Lewinsky. A normal person may have gone into hiding. Not Hillary. She began to plot her path to the United States Senate. I don’t think Clinton’s spending a lot of time wallowing right now.
