Anyone interested in the future of journalism should check out Noam Cohen’s piece in The New York Times about Joshua Micah Marshall. Noam checks in with all the right people including Markos Moulitsas Zúniga and Dan Kennedy.
I was at the Boston Phoenix when Marshall worked at The American Prospect. We were contemporaries of sorts. There was a time when the Prospect was going through some ups and downs, when I actually worried about how things would work out for Marshall, who essentially broke the U.S. Attorneys scandal on his burgeoning blog. More than any particular journalist achievement, I give him a tremendous amount of credit for his persistence, imagination and vision.
